Gerry Bishop, LMSW
Oncology Social Worker
Gerry Bishop, LMSW, M.Div has been an Oncology Social Worker at the Covenant Cancer Care Center and Radiation Treatment Centers since 2000. In addition to providing bio-psycho-social-spiritual instruction and care to cancer patients in treatment, Gerry provides separate monthly education classes for cardiac and pulmonary Rehabilitation patients at Covenant, along with a variety of cancer, pulmonary and spousal loss support groups to the community on behalf of Covenant. His 36 years as a Master’s level clinician include pastoral care in Northern Mississippi, and then, after completing a 2nd Masters in Clinical Social Work, as a Marriage & Family Therapist and then Supervisor at Family Service Center in Houston, TX. Since returning to Michigan in 1994, Gerry worked as a Family Therapist for Boysville of Michigan (now Holy Cross) and then as a Mission Services Coordinator for St Mary’s of Michigan, before assuming his present position.

Alison VanNorman, LMSW
Oncology Social Worker
Alison received her Bachelor's of Social Work degree from Saginaw Valley State University in 2001, and her Master's of Social Work degree from Michigan State University in 2005. She has been with Covenant HealthCare since 1978, and joined the Covenant Cancer Care Team in 2012. She is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers. Alison provides direct support services to people living with cancer, and their caregivers - individually, or in a group setting.

Alison and her husband live in Saginaw. They have 2 children, and are proud grandparents of 4 beautiful grandchildren.

Alison enjoys traveling to Northern Michigan and being near the water.
