We’re making urgent care safe for you during COVID-19.

Patient getting temperature taken

Covenant HealthCare encourages everyone to stay home as much as possible to stop the spread of COVID-19, but if you require urgent care, staying home may not be the right decision. An untreated illness or injury could worsen until your only option is emergency care. That’s why we’re taking extraordinary measures to ensure your safety at our five MedExpress locations and our FastCare clinic in the Meijer on Tittabawassee Road. All six locations are still open for you, seven days a week (hours may vary during this time—call the location near you for their schedule).

Here are some of the safety precautions we’re taking so that you can feel confident about visiting our urgent care locations.

Screening of all guests. Before anyone is allowed into any of our urgent care centers, they are asked a series of screening questions related to COVID-19 symptoms, possible exposure, etc.

Masks for all guests and staff. Anyone that enters one of our urgent care centers will be required to wear a mask. You may bring one from home, or we will provide one for you. All Covenant doctors and staff members wear masks, too.

Safe waiting-room options. If there is a wait before an exam room is available, you have three safe options:

  • Wait in our socially distanced waiting rooms: In both our MedExpress and FastCare locations, we have removed some seating from our waiting rooms so that the remaining seats are safely spaced at least 6 feet apart.
  • Wait in your car: If you prefer, after your screening you may wait in your car and we will text you when your room is ready (MedExpress locations only).
  • Wait at home: MedExpress patients may take advantage of our online check-in, then wait at home until we text you that a room is available. To see wait times for each MedExpress location and to check in, go to the MedExpress page on our site.

Continuous disinfection. All rooms in our urgent care locations are thoroughly cleaned with a bleach solution between patients and also every two hours throughout the day.

Visitor restrictions.  We strongly encourage patients to come alone to urgent care if it is at all possible. If you are not feeling well enough to come in alone, you may bring one healthy visitor with you. Children may be accompanied by one healthy parent. All visitors will be screened at the entrance and must wear a mask.

Urgent care is not only a valuable healthcare option for non-emergencies like ear infections, sprains or allergic reactions, it’s a great first step if you’re unsure whether you need emergency care. Our urgent care staff will evaluate your injury or illness, then either treat you or call ahead to the Covenant Emergency Care Center for you.

NOTE: If you are experiencing possible symptoms of COVID-19, please call your doctor or our COVID-19 hotline (989.583.3135) BEFORE coming to any urgent care location. Your doctor or our hotline staff will give you instructions based on your symptoms and level of exposure. (For more information, see our COVID-19 FAQ page.)

These are challenging times for all of us, but no one should go without necessary medical care out of fear of infection. Covenant is here for you.
