Program Description:
The Covenant Cancer Care Center’s fourth annual symposium, “Advances in Oncology: Focus on Breast Cancer” will bring together national and regional clinicians to discuss the latest strategies and developments in the treatment of breast cancer. Due to advancements, breast cancer is no longer the leading cause of mortality in women. This symposium will review recent key clinical studies in addition to discussing the role of surgery and radiation for palliative treatment and hypo-fractionated breast radiation therapy. Oncoplastic surgery versus mastectomy will be challenged through discussion. Prevention of breast and ovarian cancer in young women, lymphedema, weight loss and body image concerns will be highlighted. This multidisciplinary CME symposium is a must-attend event for the management of today’s breast cancer patient.
