Get the extraordinary support you need with our childbirth education classes.

  • Baby Care 101: The basics of diapering, bathing, dressing and feeding are covered - incorporating safety and security. The class wraps up with a discussion on brain development and age milestones. At Covenant HealthCare, we understand that these little ones do not come with a manual, and our goal is to help parents have a sense of readiness for parenthood.  This is a 2 week course.
  • Weekend Baby Care 101: While this class delivers the same content as the Baby Care Class described above, it does so in a one-day, five hour class format.
  • Breastfeeding Class: Breastfeeding provides the best start for your baby, but the idea makes many new parents nervous. This one-day, 2 hour class was created to help parents learn breastfeeding basics such as correct positioning, proper latching, how to know if your baby is getting enough food, supply and demand of breast milk and where to get help if needed. Taking this class is a great way to lessen the anxiety of breastfeeding and to build confidence. At Covenant, the breastfeeding class is taught by our knowledgeable lactation consultants.
  • Labor and Delivery Class: This five-week series focuses on the birth process with the goal of the class to help you and your support person understand the stages of labor and how your body/mind is changing. With that understanding, Covenant hopes to offer you methods of relaxation, positions for comfort, etc. to help you work with your body rather than against it. You will also gain an understanding of what happens with vaginal birth as well as a cesarean birth, and finally, touch on the post-partum care of mom.
  • Weekend Labor and Delivery Class: While this class delivers the same content as the Labor and Delivery Class described above, it does so in a one-day, eight-hour class format.
  • Sibling Education: This class is for families expecting another child. The class is meant for children age 3 - 9. Soon-to-be big brothers and sisters will enjoy this one-morning class that will help prepare for new baby while discussing the importance of being a big brother or sister. It is a hands-on class with parental involvement.  A hospital tour will be available for the siblings to see where they will meet their new brother/sister for the first time.
  • Infant and Child CPR: This class is designed for parents, grandparents and caregivers of young children. This is not a certification course; rather, it is a family and friends course which will teach infant and child CPR and how to help if an individual who is choking.
