Pedestrian Crossing Updates

Coming to Cooper Avenue

Over the next 6 to 8 weeks, renovations to the Cooper Avenue pedestrian crosswalk will begin. We’ve heard concerns, and teams have been working with the City of Saginaw to make improvements. We are excited to have finally come to a solution to support enhanced safety and ease of access to 900 Cooper.

Changes to the sidewalks and pedestrian crosswalks will include:

  • Better identification for more defined paths to cross the road
  • Islands will be created in the existing turn lanes to give more definition to road crossings
  • The steps to 900 Cooper will be replaced with a ramp
  • Additional “Pedestrian Crossing” signals to be installed

Detours will occur on Cooper Avenue between Michigan Avenue and Bond Street. We appreciate your flexibility as routes will change. Construction should be completed by Thanksgiving.
