Treatment options

Our orthopaedic physicians have years of experience with knee pain and will work with you to determine the best course of care.

Basic Intervention

If your knee pain requires less drastic measures, your team will establish a plan that includes components like ice and rest, exercise and weight loss, lifestyle and behavioral changes, or assistive devices like crutches or canes.

Knee strengthening exercises can also help you reduce pain and achieve your best health possible.

Medical Intervention

If medical intervention is the appropriate path for your knee pain, our comprehensive orthopaedic team will be with you every step of the way.

Components for pain management may include pain assessments, pain medications, joint injections or physical therapy.

Components for physical therapy may include focused and supervised clinical program exercises and stretches, massage/water therapy, biofeedback or electrical nerve stimulation.

Surgical Intervention

If you’re in need of surgical intervention, you don’t have to go far to receive superior knee care. In addition to performing partial knee replacements, total knee replacements, bilateral knee replacements, knee revisions and knee arthroscopies, Covenant HealthCare was also the first in the Great Lakes Bay Region to perform MAKO robotic knee replacement surgery. We perform more MAKO procedures than any other area hospital, and our highly skilled MAKO surgeons perform the highest number of procedures per surgeon in the state.
