Diagnostic and Treatment Centers

The Diagnostic Center
As an approved center in the state of Michigan, families can obtain an approved medical diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder from the Covenant Center for Autism.

Over the course of one day, you and your child will meet with our team of specialists. After the team members have had the opportunity to meet your child, run a series of screening tests and collaborate their findings, you will have the opportunity to sit down the same day to do the following:

  • Review the results of the screening
  • Have your questions answered by a team of specialists
  • Discuss information on resources and support groups
  • Be given a tour of the Covenant Center for Autism, our approved Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy center

The Treatment Center
The mission of the treatment center, formally named Gabe's Place, is to improve functional communication, social skills, play skills, cognitive skills, and independence with activities of daily living (toilet training, hand washing, etc.). We will also work to decrease maladaptive/problem behaviors (tantrums, aggression, self-injurious behavior, stereotypy, etc.).

Our extraordinary treatment includes the following:

  • 1:1 therapy with a classroom behavior therapist
  • 1:1 and group speech therapy available with a licensed speech and language pathologist
  • An individualized treatment plan for each child
  • Children will attend between 20 to 40 hours per week depending on the individualized care plan
  • Early intensive behavior intervention for children from 18 months up to 7 years
  • Full access to our eLibrary, which consists of videos and news articles all relevant to ASD findings and treatment

Treatment plans will utilize reinforcement, shaping, prompting and prompt-fading, and generalization strategies to help improve overall function for each child. Both physical and occupational therapy are also available through Covenant HealthCare.
