Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Covenant HealthCare promises to deliver extraordinary care to every generation, from the youngest patients to the oldest. For over 40 years, families have relied on Covenant HealthCare to provide the highest level of newborn care in the region.

Covenant HealthCare has the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the region. The 55-bed unit (RNICU) has recently been renovated to provide a comfortable and healing environment for newborns and their families. It is equipped with the most advanced technology to care for our tiniest patients.

The RNICU has board-certified neonatologists and neonatal nurse practitioners that provide 24-hour, in-house coverage. Specially trained nurses, respiratory therapists, and an excellent support team of occupational therapists, dietitians, lactation consultants, social workers, case workers, and pastoral care are all vital members of the RNICU team.

It is not always possible to predict which baby will need the services of an RNICU, but our team is always ready. High-risk obstetric cases are referred to Covenant’s Birth Center so their babies will have advanced care available from their first breath.
