Covenant HealthCare Seeks Individuals to Provide Input and Join the Covenant Cancer Care Center Patient and Family Advisory Council

The Covenant Cancer Care Center is asking individuals to consider participating on the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC). The focus is to enhance the patient experience through the eyes of those who have been a patient or are a loved one of a patient.

Participation in the PFAC will allow participants to have an impact on patient care at Covenant, as well as hopefully developing new friendships. Ultimately, the PFAC will be comprised of former patients, family members, Covenant HealthCare leadership and staff.

Christin Tenbusch, Patient Experience Administrator, says “The goal of this group is to be the voice of patients and families. Anything we can do to enhance the patient experience is important, and getting patient and family input makes sure we are focusing on the right things.”

A hospital-wide advisory council is also seeking members, but the council specific to the Cancer Care Center will kick-off first. Tenbusch says the first meeting will be held in August.

Objectives of the Council are to:

  • Improve the flow of information and sharing of knowledge and experiences between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the patient and family experience.
  • Participate in the development and planning of patient and family engagement initiatives.
  • Serve as a link between the community and the Cancer Care Center.

To become a member of the PFAC, please contact Christin Tenbusch, Patient Experience/PFAC Coordinator at 989.583.7491 or pfac@chs-mi.com. Individuals can find more information and apply online at: www.covenanthealthcare.com/pfac
