Collaboratives

Covenant HealthCare engages in a number of collaboratives and initiatives to continually improve our level of patient care and safety. 

Collaboratives that Covenant HealthCare participates in include:

  • Michigan Surgical Quality Collaborative (MSQC)
    • MSQC focuses on real-world improvements in surgical outcomes.

  • Michigan Cardiovascular Consortium Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (BMC2 PCI)
    • BMC2 PCI is a prospective, multicenter registry that represents a regional collaborative effort to assess and improve quality of care and outcomes of patients with coronary disease who undergo percutaneous coronary intervention.

  • Michigan Society of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgeons (MSTCVS)
    • MSTCVS is a multidisciplinary group of medical professionals dedicated to improving the care of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in Michigan.

  • Michigan Cardiovascular Consortium (VIC)
    • VIC is designed to improve quality of care and outcomes and reduce practice variation across the specialties that perform these procedures. A key element of this is the PVI (Peripheral Vascular Intervention) registry.

  • Michigan Bariatric Surgery Consortium (MBSC)
    • MBSC aims to advance the science and practice of bariatric surgery-in Michigan and across the United States.

  • Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative (MSSIC)
    • MSSIC is a statewide quality improvement collaborative involving orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons with the aim of improving the quality of care of spine surgery.

  • Michigan Health and Hospital Association (MHA) Keystone Collaboratives:
    • Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infection: Covenant HealthCare has implemented evidence-based interventions for appropriate urinary catheter use, insertion, proper care and maintenance.
    • Sepsis: Covenant is focusing on the early identification and treatment of sepsis using early goal-directed therapy.
    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU): Covenant is implementing MHA-recommended prevention, detection and treatment strategies to reduce sedation and delirium in the ICU.
    • Obstetrics (OB): Covenant is focusing on eliminating preventable harm to mothers giving birth and their newborn babies.
    • Gift of Life: Covenant partners with Gift of Life Michigan to promote the importance of organ donation and transplantation.
